How A River Card Cost Me $1,050

Playing in a 4-table 1625 FPP Satellite that pays $1,050... only 1 winner.

I played great poker. In the 3rd round, doubled up and was top 3 in chips for the next 30 minutes.

Once again... same story as always. Got all my money in as an overwhelming favorite and the donkey catches a fucking miracle 8-outer on the river:

We were down to 18 at this point and had I won, I would have had over 16,000 in chips and more than 3 times anybody else's stack.

Still made the final table, but short-stacked. One hand, raised in EP with KQ suited and guy in MP pushed. It was half my stack to call, but was getting 2.5-1 so I called. I flopped my King, but he hit his 5 too. I turned the Queen and had 4 outs to the river but, no... I'm not the one to get lucky so he doubles up.

A couple hands later, in LP, I have AJ and the guy to my right moves in with K8. I call. Flop is all rags, turn is worthless and he spikes his goddammed 8 on the river to double through me again.

I finish 8th out of 40 and receive nothing.

... No luck. Just no luck at all.
