I hope "it's notta tuma!"

So I have some weird mass in my abdomen and the doctors don't know what it is. I think it's a hernia, but none of the doctors will tell me for sure what it is.

Great.

I graduate next month and I have an unidentifiable mass growing in my stomach.

But, oh well. Surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday and when they take out the Alien Embryo growing in my belly, I should be better. Of course, unless it's cancer. Oh boy that would suck.

But I'm keeping up the hopes that it is indeed a hernia of some sort. I hate the idea of surgery.

So along with my two weeks off of work, I get to play poker. Qualified for the MTT $215 WSOP Satellite where one $10k seat is paid out for every 55 entries. I guess I'll try to play it on Saturday since I may be dead on Wednesday. I'll keep everyone posted.

I am the epitome of bubble boy

So down to my last $2 in my PP account...I know how pathetic. Well that is the life of a degenerate. I decided to play in the $1+0 PP tourneys they have. 1228 people enter with first prize paying out over $220. Were down to 143 people (top 140 paid) and I have $15000, blinds at $600-1200. I'm UTG and I look down at AQs. I raise to $5000. Folds to the bb who moves me all in (he had about 37k). So 140 paid something like $1.27 so not much a of a payout so I called my last 10k. He has 2 jacks and it is off to the races. Flop comes J9x turn 9 and I'm drawing dead. I'm out and after all the tables finish, PP tells me I busted out 141. This is the 3rd tourney I have busted out on the bubble and the 5 where I've been at least 5 spots away from the money. If it paid more money, I would have probably laid it down but since the payout was so miniscule, it wasn't a big loss except for the 2+ hours I spent playing.
This wasn't as upsetting as my donkey play on PokerRoom where I was top 5 in chips in a $5 tourney with 40 people left (546 started) and I donkey my chips off for a 19th place finish and a profit of $21. Last hand was comical though. I had 11k left and I move all in with J10. BB calls me because the math was right for him and he had the chips with 54s. Flop comes AJ10. I turn to my buddy who was sweating me and I'm like yeah, I will double up unless he goes 32. Well the turn was a 3 and the river of course was a 2. Crazy but I never would have been in that position if I didn't donkey my chips off.

It was only a matter of time

Poker Condoms

I know it's a free roll but gimme a break

So NBA told me about the free rolls for the WSOP on PP. 3500 people and top 50 get into a staellite to try and get into the WSOP ME. So I play in one and were at about 1000 people left. I have a little over 15,000 in chips and I raise up to 900 utg with AK (blinds 150-300). The buttons calls me. Flop comes A72 rainbow. Pot is 1950, I bet 1000, the button moves all in for about 13k. I'm like did he flop a set, get 2 pair or ace weaker kicker. I sensed the latter and was correct, he turns over A5. Turn is a 9 and the river...is a 5. WTF. I asked him in the chat, you didn't think I had an ace raising utg. He said nope. That's poker folks or at least on-line poker. I busted out a round later when my AJ all in met up with AQ. I wonder if this tourney cost money to enter if he would have played the same way...my gut says yes and that is what is really scary.

I guess I am cursed... again, I find myself at the top of the leaderboard in chips with less than 10 tables left.

Everytime I lost a pot when I was all-in preflop, I was the favorite. On this hand, I was a 2-1 favorite preflop. Of course, on the flop I went to a 3-1 dog but on the turn had a shot as I went to a 2-1 dog with any spade, any ace or any king (14 outs) saving me. But of course, I am never the one to spike the winner on the river, so IGHN. GG donkeys.

Once again, I make a GREAT read by calling his continuation bet on the flop then rasing the turn and the donkey gets unbelievably lucky and hits his card on the river. Why do the donkeys always seem to get paid off? Oh well... I guess it keeps them comming back for more and over the long run, I will win more of those hands than I lose.

I'm gonna try to qualify for the WSOP again Sunday. I'll be on all day if anybody cares to join me.

Met RiverRat at Pechanga last night. We were both waiting for our 8-16 seat when we got moved right next to each other at a pretty social 4-8 game. We both passed on our seats when our names were called and opted for a more "fun" night than "profitable".

I was pretty much up and down for the majority of the night. I picked up 2 big hands all night. Both pocket kings and both times in EP of a killpot. Oh, did I mention each time I had less than $40 in front of me? Yah, the important thing is that I won both pots but I couldn't maximize my profits because the first time I ran out of money on the turn and the second time I was all-in on the flop.

Got dealt AK at least 6 times and each time I completely missed my flop. I won about $200 with pocket 6s and 8-6 suited, but must have lost more than that with AK.

Interesting hand came up involving RiverRat and a black dude in seat 6 wearing sunglasses (yes, at the 4-8 table). RR raised PF and bet every street with what I think was a mid pocket pair. Of course an Ace hits the flop, but like the champ he is, RR keeps betting. Anyways, the Shaft wannabe calls him all the way down to the river. RR throws out an $8 river bet and this jackass flips his cards up and exposes them to the table BEFORE announcing call, puts them on the table in front of him and the dealer places her hand on them. As she is pulling them away, he announces his call and puts his chips into the pot. I spoke up and correctly pointed out that his hand was dead as it had been mucked and the dealer had touched the cards. The rule specifically states: "You must protect your own hand at all times. Your cards may be protected with your hands, a chip, or other object placed on top of them. If you fail to protect your hand, you will have no redress if it becomes fouled or the dealer accidentally kills it."

Anyways, after I pointed this out, RR still did the honerable thing and folded his hand, allowing the chump to scoop the pot. Then he had the nerve to say to me across the table that I need to shut up and I have been running my mouth non-stop since I got to the table. Ohhhhhhhh I wanted to comment about his sunglasses SOOOO BAAAAD but I refrained and bit my tongue. We later got involved in a hand where I picked up AK from MP, raised into his BB and he called all the way down with an underpair. Couldn't believe it. Of course, I never hit my cards and he scooped that pot, too. Oh yah. He did get up and hit the ATM machine no less than 3 times, eventually leaving broke. Probably lost about $700 or so in a 4-8 game. What a donkey.

Overall, I enjoyed RR's company and made some new friends at the table. Session outcome = -$115

Donkey brought back down to earth

So I had my longest streak of winning sessions in a while snapped at 4 and it was brutal. I lost $400 in less than 2 hours and I didn't play bad at all. I played 9 hands to the river and won 1 and that was when I was in all for 10 chips and was heads up against the bb with my A10 vs. her A5. The other 8 hands I had the best hand till the river. I lost to 4 flushes, 3 2 pairs made(2 of which were 2nd pair on the flop) and a gutshot straight. Even some of the other players were commenting on my bad luck. So that night after feeling depressed and after eating some comfort food from Taco Bell, I ventured back into the realm of Party Poker. I haven't played since the upgrade and I like the changes I've seen so far. They have a decent bonus going this month so I deposited $100.

I played in the $22 buy-in tourney, my favorite with which I have had moderate luck in. One things I've noticed is that the fields are a lot smaller for these events than in the past. I don't know why. This tournament only had 381 people, usually it has 6-7 hundred. Anyways, I'm in the 2nd level and have been up and down so far hovering around the starting stack of T3000. I pick up 45 in mp and had 2 limpers before me and 2 limpers after me, sb called then the bb raises to T120 (double the bb). We all call and there is T840 in the pot. Flop comes Q45. Checks to me and I bet T500. Folds to the bb and he immediately raises to T1500. I just can't call, either fold or all in. I don't think he has a set of Q's so I figure I'm good. I move all in and he instantly calls with 76o. So he is open ended and I need a 4 or 5 for the nuts. Of course the turn is a 3 and river a blank and I'm gone. WTF was this play by this guy. Bad luck but what can you do. I played last night in the same tourney and once again a smaller field. I double up about 5 minutes into the field when my AQ flopped a set and a guy moved all in with the nut flush draw and didn't hit. I had over T6000 now and just playing solid and tight. I'm around T5000 when in the 4th level (I think blinds 100-200) a guy moves all in in 1st position for about T3000. I have JJ and move all in for protection for my final T5000 and the chip leader calls us both. Chip leader has AK, I have Jacks and the 1st position guy has 10's. Flop is all rags and the turn is...of course a king and I bust out. If I won that hand, I would have been probably top 10 in chips. I got my money in with the best and it didn't hold up, that's poker. So then I played a $6 speed tournament that night which is capped at 250 people and is always maxed out but not tonight. First time I've seen this happen. Only 170 people played. I had about T4300 in the 3rd level when something happened to my connection. I don't know what happened. I couldn't get to any other site but PP wasn't working. After about 10 minutes of nothing, I was able to reconnect and I was down to T800 (antes had started and blinds at 600-1200). Then the cards were dealt and my connection went out again. I said screw it and went to bed. So lost another $6 to some weird technical issue. Maybe this is a sign from the poker gods to stop playing for a while.

1300 players, made it to 154th. I really do not mind flopping a set, turning a full house and losing.... to QUADS. Much better than a guy calling all-in with a gutshot and hitting.

It's funny to think about: I was dead to the case 9 on the flop and drawing completely dead on the turn with a full house!

Anyways, I turned $16 into a buy-in to the WSOP satellite tonight. It just started and I won the first 3 hands on an UBER-tight table then got moved after the 3rd hand.

They pay 1 WSOP ME entry for every 55 players. Top 7 will get paid with 1 - 4 getting an entry and 5-7 getting cash.

If I do anything in this tourney for once, I'll post a full report.

**** UPDATE ***

I went out in 76th place. With blinds at 200/400, I had 16,000 in chips and picked up AK of hearts in MP. I made a standard 3 x the BB raise to 1200 and it folded around to the BB who had over 32,000 in chips. (chip leader in the tourney with 8 tables left). He re-raised and made it 3,100 to go. Did he think I was stealing from MP because I had a bunch of chips, or did he really have a hand? I hated that I was about to call and see the flop with the chip leader, but thought at worst, it was a coinflip. If I hit my flop, I push, if I miss, I lay it down and still have almost double the chips of the average stack.

Flop came J-A-2 with two diamonds. I had position on him and waited to see what he'd do. There was 7,000 in the pot and he led out and bet only 2,000. Now this means one of two things: 1) He flopped a monster and is begging for me to call or 2) He completely missed and knows I have a big ace and hopes to see the turn for cheap. I put him on option 2 and raised it to 6,000 straight. He then pushed for his last 27,000 (had me WAYYY outchipped) and I quickly called. It was then that he flipped over pocket Aces and I saw that I was drawing completely dead.

It was rough, but again... I don't mind losing to an absolute monster. He flopped a set of aces and I flopped top par with top kicker. I don't think I could play it any differently. Just rotten luck, I guess. The worst thing about it? After the guy won that hand, he had over 50,000 in chips. About 10 minutes later, he ended up dumping more than 35,000 with the sucker-end of the straight against the nuts. He didn't even cash.

Overall, I played extremely well. I outlasted 70% of the field and when I went out, I went out with a real hand. I had 16,000 in chips when the average was under 9,600.

Best of all, I had a real shot at winning a $10,000 seat, hotel and travel accomidations and $1,000 spending cash... all for a $16 investment.

What's this...the Donkey is on a roll

So after my successful trip down to SD to play poker with the crew, I'm back home and have booked back to back winning sessions at Bay 101 bringing in almost $454 (which for this donkey is not bad.)The first night, I scooped up the biggest pot of my life (pretty sure this it was the biggest) of approximately $280. I'm on the button and have 5 limpers in front of me (playing 6-12). I look down and see pocket rockets so I raise it up to $12. Everyone including the blinds call so the pot has $84. The flop comes 9x4. The blinds check and my arch nemesis Hormones (my cousin) leads out for 6. One guy calls and it gets to me and I raise to 12. Hormones reraises to $18 the guy calls and I just call because I figured he has a set because 2 pair unlikely with the board being what it is. Now $128 in pot The turn was my gin card Ace of diamonds. Hormones bets, guy calls, and I raise to $24 Hormones raises to $36 guy calls and I reraise to $48 and they all call. Now $272 in the pot. I yell out 9 diamonds because I want the other guy to make his flush but for me to fill up. The river comes and it is a 9 of clubs. Hormones has 2 chips left and the other guy missed his flush draw and folds and I call the 2. Hormones had pocket 4's for a full house but I have a bigger full house to rake in a $280 pot. Hormones and I left right after that and I booked a $324 winning session.

Went back yesterday and won $120 playing 6-12 so not doing too bad. I can't remember the last time I had 2 winning sessions in a row. This year is shaping up to be a good one...I need a good year to erase the horrors of 2005.

Hendon Mob Bio

I am proud to lead the way for the crew and expect all of you to join me soon.

Every donkey has his day

So it is time for my trip report to SD about 10 days ago. Let's see, I bumped up my cash game play up to 8-16. Played with a bunch of maniacs and was down almost $400. Then the impossible happened, my table hits the jackpot and since it was between 9:00pm-12:00am it was doubled. The jackpot was worth over $13,000. My table share was $751, so I ended up about $350. So not a bad start to my poker trip.

The next day I went to Rincon with No Black Aces (NBA from now on) and RiverRat. We decided to play in the $200 night tourney. 156 players and top 18 got paid. On the 3rd hand I doubled up when a total donkey gave me his chips. I raised in 3rd position with JJ to T75 (Blinds 25-25). I get reraised to T225 by the button. I call. Flop comes out 9 high. I check and he bets T300. I smooth call (maybe a mistake calling here but it worked out). Turn was a rag below 9. He bets T300 again and I move all in for T175 more raising it up to T475. He looks surprised and then calls me with A10 of diamonds. I needed to avoid a diamond or an ace and the river was a rag and I doubled up and knocked the donkey out. I played tight and solid throughout. Took one bad beat when I called a guy (Mike Odea a loud obnoxious pro from vegas) all in with my Queens and he had 8's. He caught an 8 on the river so I doubled him up. I ended up grinding away collecting chips, getting very lucky on one hand to double up and I made the final table finishing 7th and collecting $1059 for my efforts. My first casino tourney final table and second casino cash. My 4th final table (where real money involved) and 2nd largest payday. Thanks for NBA and RiverRat for sweating me at the final table.

The next day played 4-8kill for hours and finished up $112 and played 2 tourneys really poorly and busted out of the money in both. So that was it, won about $1500 and turned a profit of over a $1000. Next poker trip, the WSOP.

How I plan on going to the WSOP Main Event on $10

Dealer: Congratulations,NoBlackAces! You won Entry to WSOP Step 2.

Dealer: Congratulations,NoBlackAces! You won Entry to WSOP Step 3.

2 Down, 3 to go. If I place top 2 in step 3 and top 2 in step 4, all I have to do is win step 5 and the rest will be history.

See you in the main event. You can count on it.

This is why I will never win a big MTT

I mean... are you kidding me? Could I have telegraphed a HUGE pocket pair any more???Again, I play flawless poker for over an hour and then this happens. I am absolutely positive that if I could go longer than 3 hours without having some fucking donkey call 4 x the BB and then raise all-in on the flop with nothing but a gutshot straight draw AND HIT, I would actually take down a win every once in a while.

Un-fucking-believable my bad luck...
